After failing to make it to the HHSAA semifinals after a loss to Campbell, Konawaena (12-3) took out its frustrations on Lahainaluna in the consolation bracket.

Chase Takaki was the leading scorer in the game with 15 points and Kevin Medeiros and Cameron Howes each added 11 points.

Cyrus Kama was the leading scorer for the Lunas with 13 points.

Konawaena advances to play Baldwin in today’s fifth place game.

Waiakea 54, Kalaheo 32

Lucas St. George exploded for 20 points in just 18 minutes against Kalaheo (12-6) in his final game in a Waiakea uniform. Jeffery Tomas added seven points and six rebounds.

The Warriors (12-4) gained a firm control on the game after outscoring the Mustangs 14-5 in the second quarter, and cemented the win by holding Kalaheo to just a single basket in the final quarter of the season.

Waiakea finishes seventh in the tournament.
